To the editor:

My husband and I really enjoy South Whidbey State Park. We walk the trails and we especially enjoy the trail to the beach. For the past two years though the beach trail has been closed because of a bank collapse that made the stairs unsafe.

Then voilà, one day we see in the South Whidbey Record that the stairs are repaired. Some wonderful local folks took it upon themselves to make the necessary repairs.

Thank you to Glen Jones, Jim Thelen, Dave Johnson, Dion McCauley, Connor McCauley, Jon Crimmins and Patty Anderson for their ingenuity and hard work. Thanks also to Frontier Building Supply for donating the materials. We do not know these folks, but we really appreciate them and their “can do” attitude. What a blessing they are to our community.
