To the editor:
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. And the politicians are now finally looking at the elephant in the middle of the room that media et al can’t see: over-bloated, redundant, amorally wasteful Pentagon spending.
Egad, the U.S. spends more on our military budget than every other major developed country — combined.
Eisenhower had it right when he warned us to “beware of the military-industrial complex.” Let’s wake up to where our children’s futures are being squandered.
War and preparation for war is a tragic waste of blood and treasure. The fact is, we can afford no further waste of either.
