Northwest Christian recording artist David Harsh will perform in concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland.

Harsh learned to sing classically in six languages while a music major in college, but soon switched to Christian music and began writing his own songs for acoustic guitar and piano. He studied with five of the best acoustic guitarists in the world, including Phil Keaggy, Alex De Grassi and John Renbourn and incorporates a unique electronic layering technique into many of his songs. Humor and audience participation are also hallmarks of his family-friendly concerts, including use of colorful boom-whackers during his concert.

Harsh is now in full-time music ministry, performing in churches all over the country, including several times on Whidbey Island. He will also be providing special music at Trinity’s 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. worship services on Sunday.

Just prior to the concert at 6 p.m. there is an ice cream sundae social at the church. All are welcome.

The concert is free to the community, though there will be an opportunity for a freewill offering to support Harsh’s ministry.
