“Inside Frampton and the Outside World,” an original musical directed by Rose Woods with music direction by Melanie Lowey, opens April 29 at the Whidbey Children’s Theater and runs for three weekends.

Frampton is a three-legged cat who dreams of going outside. One night, three Beat poet moles dig him out and his adventures begin.

Appropriate for kids of all ages, this production involves almost 30 actors ages 8-14. “Inside Frampton and the Outside World” has been performed numerous times in the San Francisco Bay area, but this production marks its Pacific Northwest premiere.

Woods, WCT’s new artistic director, wrote the play as well as the lyrics and melodies. Music for this production was orchestrated by Robert Marsanyi.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.

Shows are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays. There are two family shows on April 30 and May 8, where all seats are $7. To order tickets, call the WCT Box Office at 221-2282.
