Alleged bomb scare suspect booked into Snohomish County Jail | UPDATE

At approximately 9 a.m. a man on the MV Cathlamet from Clinton left a backpack on the car deck of the 144-car ferry. Passengers overheard him making statements that left them fearful there was a bomb in the backpack. Trooper Keith Leary said the suspect, a 32-year-old white, male from the Langley area, is being questioned by State Patrol at its Everett office in Silverlake. The man will be booked into the Snohomish County Jail following his interview with detectives.

Washington State Patrol authorities have released the identity of the man suspected of making a bomb threat to the M/V Cathlamet yesterday morning.

Michael W. Harsh, a 33-year-old from the Langley area and Everett, was booked into Snohomish County Jail yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 9 a.m. Thursday, a man on the Cathlamet left a backpack on the car deck of the 144-car ferry after it left Clinton. Passengers overheard him making statements that left them fearful there was a bomb in the backpack.

Trooper Keith Leary said the suspect was questioned by the Washington State Patrol at its Everett office in Silver Lake.

Harsh is being held on $25,000 bail.
