At the May 14 meeting of Artists of South Whidbey, Card Chair Ginger Schmidt presented Frank Rose, of the Whidbey Island Arts Council, a check for $700 in support of the Artist in Residence Program. Money for ASW Community Arts is funded through sales of cards displaying images of artwork by members. South Whidbey merchants carrying ASW cards include Ace Hardware, Freeland; Useless Bay Winery Shop, Langley; Bayview Garden Shop and Casey’s Arts & Crafts, Bayview. Other funds come from the silent auction of members’ artwork which takes place annually at the ASW Show in July.
