The South Whidbey football team traveled a far distance Friday, but it was worth it. Falcon running back Henry Mead carried the ball 27 times for 201 yards and three touchdowns in the 42-30 win over Sultan. Fullback Danny Zuver and wide receiver TJ Russell both scored, but it was Mead’s 80-yard pass interception and run back for the TD that sealed the deal for the Falcons.

On Friday, Oct. 9, the team travels to Falcon Coach Mark Hodson’s alma mater, King’s, then welcomes Granite Falls to Waterman Field on Oct. 16 for the homecoming game at 7 p.m.
