Officials with Washington State Ferries said the ferry M/V Evergreen State will be used on the Clinton-Mukilteo route to replace the ferry M/V Hiyu Monday morning.

Officials with Washington State Ferries said the ferry M/V Evergreen State will be used on the Clinton-Mukilteo route to replace the ferry M/V Hiyu Monday morning.

The 34-car ferry Hiyu was brought into service on the route on Sunday as traffic backlogs continued because of one-boat service on between Whidbey Island and the mainland.

The ferry M/V Kittitas was taken out of service for repairs Saturday afternoon, leaving just the M/V Cathlament to serve the route.

The Evergreen State, an 87-car ferry, was expected to begin sailings early Monday morning.
