Girl Scouts on Whidbey Island are in the final days of their annual cookie sale.

Girl Scouts on Whidbey Island are in the final days of their annual cookie sale.

Youngsters have been camped out at the entrances of local grocery stores since the annual sale started on Feb. 25.

Outside the Red Apple at Ken’s Korner, Abigail Amundson, 6, and Elizabeth Haines, 6, said the sale has been going well. Boxes of Thin Mints and Samoas have been the biggest sellers so far.

“We just keep putting more and more boxes out,” Abigail said.

Abigail also said that Thin Mints were her favorite.

“That’s mine, too,” added Elizabeth.

The Girl Scout cookie sale goes through Sunday, March 13.

According to the Girls Scouts of Western Washington, this year’s cookie sales are going strong, with more than 3 million boxes of cookies sold to families, friends and neighbors via presale orders.
