“Habitat for Humanity of Island County is sponsoring its second annual Playhouse Raffle, with $2 tickets on sale now through July 15 for a chance to win a children’s Victorian Bed and Breakfast-style playhouse, complete with covered porch and stained glass window.Proceeds go toward construction of two Habitat houses this year, including one on Fish Road in Freeland. The Playhouse is on display at Lumberman’s Building Center in Clinton through July 16. Tickets on the Southend are at Shirley’s Kitchen at the ferry dock, Movies Tonight in Clinton, the Video Place (inside Payless Foods) in Freeland, the Bayview Farmer’s Market, at Choochokam (July 8-9) and the Greenbank Farm Loganberry Festival July 16, where the winner will be drawn. Many have been involved in the playhouse construction. All building materials were supplied by Lumbermen’s Building Centers in Coupeville and Clinton. Architect Gerry Slick of Tacoma provided the design, and Pella Windows and Doors, Bellevue, provided the construction site. Pella owners Tripp and Kathy Rumberger and their employees Bryan Lee and Phil Goodwin, and Hoffman Construction, Issaquah, donated their time to build the playhouse. Painting was done by Emmons Painting, and a stained glass window in the playhouse’s second story was donated by Lakeview Stained Glass Overlay in Kirkland.Community volunteers and in-kind donations of construction materials and appliances are needed to complete this year’s house, said South Whidbey Habitat for Humanity president Bruce Jones.
