Hedgebrook, a retreat for women writers, invites the community to its annual open house on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 2-5 p.m.Tours of the retreat land, with views of Admiralty Inlet, will showcase the fields, ponds, forest, large organic gardens and one of Hedgebrook’s handcrafted writer’s cottages. Hedgebrook alumnae authors will read from their works, and visitors will be treated to an array of foods prepared by staff chefs, who use seasonal and organic foods from the retreat’s gardens.Hedgebrook is located at 2197 E.
