All of the volunteer positions are appointed by the mayor.

A candidate for the Planning Advisory Board must live within city limits. The planning board reviews land use applications, updates zoning codes, the comprehensive plan and shoreline master program. It also develops and revises land use regulations.

Langley Library Board applicants, who do not need to live in Langley, monitor issues related to the building, its landscaping and special projects, as well as promoting the library and its programs. The library board submits annual budget requests to the city for building improvements and other capital funding needs.

The cemetery board oversees landscaping regulations, policies, maintenance, budget and plot buybacks for the Langley-Woodmen Cemetery. It usually meets at 4:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday each month.

Applicants for any of the positions should send a letter of application to Debbie Mahler, Director of Finance/City Clerk, City of Langley, P. O. Box 366, Langley, WA 98260. clerk@langleywa.org
