Langley Motel on its way back

Langley could have a motel again if plans proposed by architect Todd Soli are approved.

“Langley could have a motel again if plans proposed by architect Todd Soli are approved.Soli has applied for a substantial development permit to change the uses and make improvements to his recently-purchased property at 526 Camano Avenue. It is often identified as the former Langley Motel property, but the previous owners, Keith and Antje Gunnar, used it for apartments.Besides the apartments, the property includes a single family residence and studio. Soli has proposed a motel, single family residence and architect’s office. Proposed improvements include remodeling the existing structures, including new facades on the four motel units, adding fenced patios to those units, and other work. A Langley Motel sign is also planned.Public comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8. Submit comments in writing to Jack Lynch, City planning official, P.O. Box 366, Langley WA 98260. The project file can be reviewed by contacting Jerry Knapp at City Hall. “
