“Building on the success and contributions of the Red Flyer Reading Program, organizers are now planning to start its equivalent in arithmetic. We seek volunteers who would give, say, 25-30 minutes twice a week to go to the Intermediate School and work one-on-one with a student the teacher would assign, said Malcolm Ferrier, a coordinator. Work space and a variety of resource materials are available. School staff will be very supportive. These programs are of immense help to the students, Ferrier said.
