A total of $6,000 in scholarships was recently awarded to five South Whidbey students.

The Langley United Methodist Church awards education scholarships to members of its congregation each year, which include recent high school graduates and those continuing their college education.

This year’s recipients of $2,000 scholarships are South Whidbey High School graduate Isla Dübendorf and Rachael Arand, a graduate of Waldorf School in Seattle.

Continuing college students Gavin Imes and Austin Drake were awarded $500. Terra Bullock was awarded $1,000.
