‘The Christmas Gift’ at SWCC
Tomorrow morning at South Whidbey Community Church, Darrel Wenzek will preach on the topic, “The Christmas Gift,” based on Matthew 1:18-25.
Wenzek is a former pastor, with a graduate degree from Western Theological Seminary in Portland, Ore.
SWCC offers a wide variety of gifted and educated speakers at Sunday morning worship services. Both the church and all its speakers adhere to the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith.
Each worship service begins at 10 a.m., and is preceded at 9 a.m. by two adult learning forums: one a discussion of the Book of Romans, led by Stan Walker; the other a study of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, led by Jim Craft. Midweek Bible studies continue in the Gospel of Luke, at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, led by Art Angst at the home of Rick and Dinah Zapata.

South Whidbey Community Church is open to everyone and gathers for worship each Sunday at the Deer Lagoon Grange, 5142 Bayview Road, Langley.

Soap Box Sunday at UUCWI
Soap Box Sunday is an annual tradition for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island. At the Sunday service, several members of the congregation will each speak for a few minutes on value-based issues about which they have passionate opinions.

Graham speaks at Unity of Whidbey
Beverly Graham will deliver the Unity service on Sunday.
Her topic appropriately will be called “After the Long Night of Darkness.” She will be utilizing story and song to weave the fabric of her talk.
The service is at 10 a.m. Dec. 28 at Bayview Hall.
