As many as five seats on the Island County Marine Resources Committee will be open for appointment or re-appointment effective Dec. 31.

The Board of County Commissioners invites applicants from Whidbey and Camano islands to express interest and request appointment.

Members of this voluntary, advisory committee serve a three-year term. The 16-member committee meets the first and third Tuesday afternoons of each month in the Board of County Commissioners Hearing Room (Room 102B Basement), Island County Annex Building, 1 N.E. Three committee members will complete their terms of service at the end of the year. They may be re-appointed or replaced at the pleasure of the commissioners. One position representing commercial interests is currently vacant and may be filled if a qualified applicant is found. Members whose terms are expiring represent ports, commercial interests as well as a member at large, a seat that represents all of Island County.
