Glass-blower Callahan McVay withdrew his candidacy for the Position 3 commissioner position on the Port of South Whidbey on Wednesday.

“I do not want this seat or position,” he said by phone. “It’s an enormous job and I have a lot on my plate.”

McVay’s decision leaves three people running for commissioner from Clinton: Curt Gordon, Ed Jenkins and Mona Newbauer.

They will join candidates for the Langley port commissioner seat, Dean Enell and Chris Jerome, at a League of Women Voters-sponsored candidates forum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland.
