Performers sought for Langley street dance

Organizers of the Langley Street Dance are on the hunt for new talent. The Langley Arts Commission is accepting submissions from artists to provide entertainment for the annual street dance scheduled for July 8, 2017. An ad hoc selection panel will choose two groups of entertainers who will split the three-hour-long event, before it goes for final review and approval by the Langley City Council.

The Langley Arts Commission is accepting submissions from artists to provide entertainment for the annual street dance scheduled for July 8, 2017. An ad hoc selection panel will choose two groups of entertainers who will split the three-hour-long event, before it goes for final review and approval by the Langley City Council.

Each group is required to enter into a contract with the city and abide by the terms and conditions of a request for proposal, and will receive $1,000 for their performances.

Criteria to be utilized by the selection committee include artistic quality and originality; danceability of music; demonstrated community performance exposure; Island County or local entertainment groups; and presentation of application materials.
