A long-awaited study and financial plan of Langley’s sewer rate will be discussed at Monday’s city council meeting.

Katy Isaksen, a utilities finance consultant, will report to the council about the sewer rate and a financial plan to make it pay for itself.

Back in 2009, the city contracted with URS Corporation and Isaksen & Associates for $90,000 to review all of its utilities rates. The resulting report called for increases to help make each utility fund cover its own expenses.

On a related note, the city council will discuss the updated sewer comprehensive plan at the regular meeting.

Also up for discussion is the election of a new mayor pro-tem to a two-year term, the final plat approval of Upper Langley’s 16 lots, and the litigation expenses for police officer Charlie Liggitt.
