The Red Cross South Whidbey team will practice setting up a shelter during the Cascadia Rising statewide earthquake exercise next week.

The organization is inviting the public to come tour the shelter at the Trinity Lutheran Church’s main building from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. Preparedness information focusing on emergency food storage will be available, along with simple snacks.

Local amateur radio operators will also be present to demonstrate their functions in a disaster. Look for the large Red Cross emergency response vehicle in the parking lot.
