The WSU Island County Beach Watchers program is now accepting applications for this year’s training sessions.

Training sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, April 2 through April 30, and continuing in October from Oct. 1-31. Most sessions will be held at the Race Road Firehouse south of Coupeville.

Training consists of at least 100 hours of expert sessions, field trips and hands-on practice. Students will learn how to protect and preserve the beach and get a better understanding of island geology and biology.

Class size is limited. To get an application, or to learn more about Beach Watchers, go to http://beachwatchers.wsu.edu/island.
