Skagit Valley College to move

Published 3:38 pm Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Skagit Valley College’s South Whidbey Center is slated to move once again according to school documents, though it won’t travel far. The college will relocate from its current location in the north wing of the high school to South Whidbey Academy’s Building C on Maxwelton Road.

The move appears to be long-term, as the agreement between the college and South Whidbey School District becomes effective July 1 and expires June 30, 2021.

In December, the South Whidbey Center moved from its old campus located at Ken’s Korner in Clinton. Credit and noncredit classes will occur between 2:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Signage for the college will be installed at the entrance of the campus.

Under the agreement, the South Whidbey Center will have access to 2,150 square feet of classroom and administrative space. The college will pay the district $2,150 per month, plus an additional $55 for network fees.
