Middle school girls, the Soroptimist Club of South Whidbey Island wants you.

The organization’s Start Dreaming Day Camp is July 7-9 at the Langley Middle School, and there is still space for those interested.

The camp is a no-charge event that aims to empower young women. The goal is for them to leave the program having formed new relationships, life skills and great friends.

The first day includes activities such as tie-dye, baking and special guest Langley Mayor Fred McCarthy. Zumba, self-defense, community projects, stress management and deep breathing techniques are also part of the overall curriculum.
