South Enders gather to witness Obama inauguration

By the end of her new president’s inaugural speech on Tuesday at the Freeland Library, Jenny Grisewood, who was born in South Africa, was moved to tears.

She said she showed up to share the day with her community.

“I’ve been waiting for a president like Barack Obama since JFK and Jimmy Carter,” she noted. “He has integrity, intelligence and offers the country a fine balance between harmony and inclusion.”

The free streaming video presentation of the historic inauguration of the nation’s 44th president was hosted by the library as a public service.
