South Whidbey staff gets ready for start of school

Registration continues at South Whidbey Elementary School for students new to the district.

The school office is open from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. daily. The office will be closed Friday, Sept. 3 and Monday, Sept. 6.

Class placements for the coming school year will be posted in the school windows after

4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31. Supply lists will be available in the plastic pockets on the wall outside the front office at the school.

Classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 7. School hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Parents of alternating day kindergarten students will receive a letter at the end of this month with the time and date of orientation; a specific supply list will be included.

Buses for both schools will follow routes similar to those last year. A notice that lists major bus stops and pick-up times will be published in a future edition of the Record.

The breakfast-lunch program will be in full swing on the first day of school. Free and reduced lunch prices are available for families who qualify. Parents must re-apply for free/reduced lunches every year, and applications will be sent home with all students on the first day of school.

Breakfast will be served in the multipurpose room at the elementary school.
