Thief nabs bank bag at arts fest

Recently, law enforcement patrolled Choochokam Arts festival in Langley. The only incident Police Chief Randy Heston reported to city council was theft of a vendor’s bank bag with about $1,000 in it at the end of the festival as vendors packed their wares and tents. The vendor originally thought between $15,000 and $20,000 was in the bag, but his wife had removed the majority of it the night before.

“We have a suspect, but we can’t prove it,” Heston said, adding his office is investigating the theft.

The city’s other major concern was noise in the evenings. Heston said his office did not receive any complaints about Mo’s Pub and Eatery, which has been an issue in the past with its nearby residential neighbors.
