Two-boat service has returned to the Clinton-to-Mukilteo ferry route.
Washington State Ferries announced early Sunday morning that the Tokitae is repaired and back in operation following a small fire on Saturday. The regular run schedule has resumed.
A pipe connected to the Tokitae’s heating system burst Saturday morning, causing an electrical fire in a small room. No one was hurt, but the boat was immediately pulled from service.
That left the route with just one boat, resulting in lengthy traffic delays. Motorists reported ferry-line wait times of two or more hours.
