Triathlon seeks volunteers

More than 100 volunteers are needed for the Whidbey Island Triathlon next month.

Run by the South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District, the swim, bike and run is set for Saturday, Aug. 3.

Volunteers work as trail marshals, clean-up crew and other duties. The course begins at Goss Lake for a half-mile swim, transitions to a 19.5-mile bike ride to South Whidbey Community Park, where it finishes with a 3.8-mile trail run.
