The Falcons used senior night on Tuesday to strut their stuff.
At home on Tuesday, South Whidbey played Nooksack Valley and used their seven senior players to keep their undefeated season intact by winning 5-3.
Ashley Lopez hit a two-RBI single in the fourth to improve on the three-run third inning.
Coach Todd Lubach said the Falcons were ahead 5-0 after the fourth, but let in a few errors in the fifth, allowing the Pioneers to bring in three runs.
South Whidbey advanced to 15-0 in the North Cascades Conference and 19-0 overall, and dropped the Pioneers 12-3 in the conference and 15-4 overall.
On Thursday, South Whidbey went to Sultan — who was 1-13 — for a quick three-inning game.
South Whidbey pitchers Ashley Lopez and Lucy Daumen didn’t give up a single hit in the game, according to Lubach. He said Val Mock and Jenny Murphy each hit three RBI doubles in the third inning to win the last game of regular season play.
The Falcons finished the season 16-0 in the NCC league and 20-0 overall, and the Turks fell to 1-14 overall.
South Whidbey’s next game will be at noon on May 24 at Sedro-Woolley, according to Lubach. He said Meridian and Blaine will face-off earlier that day to decide who advances to face the Falcons.
“Hopefully we’ll win that and advance to championship rounds,” Lubach said.
