The Washington State Patrol is looking for witnesses to an unusual incident on April 30 in which a man suffered injuries from an unknown source in a Bayview parking lot.

Trooper Mark Francis said a 57-year-old Snohomish man was having dinner with his wife and father-in-law in Neil’s Clover Patch. The man wasn’t feeling well and went outside.

At about 6:20 p.m., his wife and father-in-law went to look for him and found the man collapsed in the parking lot. Paramedics thought he had suffered a heart attack so he was airlifted to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

Doctors at the hospital, however, found that his injuries were not consistent with collapsing or from a heart attack. He suffered broken ribs, a collapsed lung and head injuries, Francis said.

The man is recuperating at the hospital but doesn’t remember anything about the incident.

Any witnesses are asked to call Detective Kevin Nelson at 360-654-1143.
