Alex Lemaich

Alex Lemaich passed away on Nov. 21, 2010 at the age of 90.

He was born on Feb. 26, 1920 in Indiana. He was a World War II veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor.

He made his living as a steel worker and after retiring in 1982 lived on Camano Island and later he and his wife Phyllis traveled all over the United States in their RV spending winters in Arizona. He moved to Whidbey Island five years ago.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Phyllis; three children, Daniel (Sandra) of Camano Island, Carol (Robert) Gentz of Langley, and Jeffrey of Camano Island; two grandchildren, Nick Nicholson and Alex B Lemaich; and three sisters Dolly, Dorothy, and Mary. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Daniel and Manda; his brothers Mike, George and John; and sisters Zora, Ann and Helen. He leaves numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who loved him.
