Don LeMay

Don LeMay passed away peacefully on April 17, 2010 surrounded by his family at his home on Whidbey Island.

Don was born on March 18, 1933, at his parent’s home in Ballard.

He attended St. Alphonsus Grade School and graduated from Bothell High School in 1951. He attended Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, Minn.

Don worked his entire career at Continental Baking Company, retiring in 1990 as director of cake production in St Louis, Mo.

In 1953, he married Joan Clark. Don and Joan started raising their family, living in Denver, Colo., Seattle,

San Jose, Calif. and Troy, Ill.

Don enjoyed traveling, watching sports and working in his yard. Don and Joan enjoyed retirement, spending time between their homes in Arizona and on Whidbey Island.

Don is survived by his wife Joan, of Freeland; sisters Yvonne Trandum, of Wheeler, Ore. and Evelyn Tourville, of Seattle; sons Robert LeMay (Laurie), of Seattle, Ronald LeMay (Margaret), of Kingston, and John LeMay (Melissa), of Lake Stevens; daughter Yvonne LeMay, of Monroe; grandchildren Michelle Peterson, Derrek Engberg, Kasey LeMay, David LeMay, Jennie LeMay, Preston LeMay and Truman LeMay; great-grandchildren Lacee and Waylon Peterson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his son Paul.

A celebration of Don’s life will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 8 at Crystal Lake Clubhouse, 23909 Crystal Lake Road, Woodinville.
