Dorothy Willma Gildow Wahl Cohn: Sept. 22, 1922 – Oct. 21, 2018

Dorothy Willma Gildow Wahl Cohn was born on Sept. 22, 1922, in her grandparents’ home on Brooks Hill in Langley, to William and Alta Gildow. She passed away on Oct. 21, 2018 at the age of 96 in Everett. Dorothy was a native Whidbey Islander and was very proud of her ancestry that went back to Elliott Point Treaty signer Chief Pat Kanim. She would tell tales of walking in the snow and rain to Whidbey Island’s Bayview School where she attended school and of the dances held in the Bayview Community Hall. Whenever she drove by the buildings she would smile and say how happy she was that they were still standing.

Dorothy leaves behind five of her seven children, Les, Beverly, Beth [Eric], Reuel [Valarie], and Kermit [Francesca] along with 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Marcia Floyd and Joan Cohn, brother-in-law Dick Floyd, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Ed Cohn, her daughter Barbara Westover, her son Phil Wahl, her brothers Herb and Lloyd Gildow and her sister Alta Virginia Posenjak.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday Oct. 27, 2018 at 3 p.m., at Bayview Cemetery on Whidbey Island. Funeral arrangements by Wallin Funeral Home.
