Frank Babcock

Frank Eugene Babcock was born on May 31, 1940 in Waterman, Ill. and passed away

May 31, 2008.

He was the son of Otto Russel Babcock and Sophie Dreher Babcock. He graduated from Waterman High School on

May 31, 1940.

Frank is survived by his son Michael, his daughter Judith, his sister Erdine Gletty and his grandchildren, Colin and Katie Thompkins.

On Sept. 2, 1941, he married Mary Lou Stiles in New York City, N.Y.

Their marriage was blessed with a son, Michael and a daughter, Judith.

Frank’s career included acting in New York and California. He appeared in Broadway productions such as “I Remember Mama,” and “Janie,” and in Woody Allen’s movie “Take the Money and Run.”

Following this, his career moved to sales in the San Francisco area. In California, he pursued his acting interests in summer stock presentations in Drytown, located in the California Gold Country. He wrote, directed and acted in productions for the Claypipers, a summer theatre company.

Following the death of his wife and a period of travel and exploration, he settled in Langley a decade ago.

He became a member of the island’s alternative spiritual and artistic community. His golden years were spent mentoring others. He was an inspiration in his life and his death.
