Howard Earl Allison

Howard Earl Allison, born Nov. 1, 1921 in Kingston.

Howard passed away May 28, 2007 in Freeland with his family by his side. Howard joined the Navy in 1940 and served during World War II and Korea. He was proud of his service and it seems fitting that he passed on Memorial Day.

A lifelong Democrat, Howard enjoyed a good political debate. He had definite opinions on nearly every subject. Howard looked forward to meeting every weekday morning with his coffee club friends at the Freeland Cafe.

He worked hard on his garden and was proud of the results. His flowers were gorgeous and his vegetables always exceeded expectations with plenty to share with family and friends.

Howard was preceded in death by his brothers Clarence and Gene, and sisters Mae, Myrtle and Lois. He is survived by sisters Edith Lovelace and Ruby Benton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Howard’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 28 at Freeland Hall, 1515 Shoreview Drive, Freeland.
