Kenneth D., Sr. Jackson

Kenneth D. Jackson, Sr. of Clinton was born Sept. 30, 1928 in Seattle and passed away Thursday, Jan. 19 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham.

He is survived by his sons Kenneth D. Jackson III (Chris) of Everett, Kevin Jackson of Alaska; two grandsons, Brian Jackson (Chrissy) and Scott Jackson (fiancée Diane) of Seattle; and dear friend and companion, Joy Mathenia.

Jackson grew up in the Seattle area and graduated from Lincoln High School. He married Lilyen Stefenson, who preceded him in death in 1976.

During the Korean War he served in the Army, stationed at the atomic testing grounds in the Nevada desert. Following his father’s occupation as a plumber, he worked in the Seattle area and was a member of the Local 32 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union for 55 years. He spent many working years in Alaska.

In 1977, he retired in Clinton and married Connie Saban, who passed away in 1998.

He attended Maxwelton Christian Fellowship Church, was a past member of American Legion Post 41, a member of the Rod and Gun Club, the Eagles and the Clinton Progressive Club.

He will be greatly missed by the people at the senior center where he enjoyed playing drums in the Senior Fun Band.

A memorial service will be held at the Maxwelton Christian Fellowship Church, 7041 Maxwelton Road, Clinton at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28.
