Verna Louise Torfin

Long-time resident of Clinton Wash., Verna Louise Torfin, age 90, sadly passed away on 12/12/2015.

Born Sept. 20 of 1925, she was one of eight children to Ben and Josie Syverson of Twin Valley, Minnesota. She had an ambitious spirit and a kind heart and worked various jobs over the years to support her family. Many would remember her as the nice banker with the friendly smile in Langley, Wash.

Over the years she married and was preceded in death by husbands, Rodney Goldthorp, Rodger Shenaman, and Curtis Torfin. She’s survived by her sisters Jean and Shirley, her children, Joan Rutherford, Gloria Craig, Clark Goldthorp, Shirley Huffine, step-son Mike Shenaman, her Minnesota family, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Our family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers at the Scott Family Home for making her comfortable in these last few years. As of now, her family will honor her traditions and cherish her memories over this holiday season and at a later date, a memorial service will be held.

Verna lived a long and fulfilling life and will be greatly missed by many.
