Virginia Keiner Knapp

Former Langley resident, Virginia Knapp, died Sept. 26, 2013, as the result of a head injury she sustained while riding her horse in California Valley, Calif. She was 78 years old. Prior to her death, Virginia was an active horse enthusiast and rider for over 70 years. While living in Langley she was a horseback riding instructor, trainer and also boarded horses at her farm off Sandy Point Road. Her family is at peace knowing that her life ended on her last horseback ride.

Virginia was born on Oct. 26, 1934 in the Kingston/Surrey area of England. She spent most of her adult life in the United States, moving to Langley in 198l, where she raised two young children and introduced many others to the love and care of horses, before moving to California in 1998. She is survived by her four children: Mandy Davies, Eric Davies, Thomas “Todd” Davies and Olivia (Keiner) Knapp; and her precious grandchildren: Oliver Davies, Andrew Davies, Ian Davies and Scarlett Keiner.
