Cedarcrest claims UBGCC golf meet

South Whidbey had one of its better performances on the course at Useless Bay Golf & Country Club, but Cedarcrest still took the three-way league meet Thursday.

Cedarcrest’s boys golfers scored a meet-low 214 strokes through nine holes, par 35. South Whidbey finished in second place with 251, led by Anton Klein’s 44 strokes. Sultan placed third with 258 strokes.

South Whidbey’s golfers were aided by 49 strokes from Ian Saunsaucie, 51 by Jon Rasmussen, 53 by Austin Drake, 54 by Thorin Helmerson.

Klein and Cedarcrest’s Luke Stupfel tied for third place overall with 44 strokes.
