Playing a modified Stableford scored match with Sultan, South Whidbey’s girls golf team came away with its third victory of the season on Thursday, April 17.

Rosie Portillo, a Falcon junior, was the meet’s medalist with 26 points through nine holes at Useless Bay Golf and Country Club. In Stableford scoring, points are awarded based on how many strokes are needed per hole based on its par, e.g. one stroke under par awards three points.

Christine Fields, the lone Coupeville golfer, placed second with 23 points.

Sultan: Shelby Ruiz had 17 points, Olivia Korn 4 and Casey Rainville 3.

South Whidbey: Meaghan de Wolf 18, Grace Stringer 13, Tara Moore 11 and Riley Yale 10.
