Rallies run out against King’s for South Whidbey volleyball

LANGLEY – If South Whidbey’s volleyball team had any more come-from-behind wins, it would have had to change the mascot from the Falcon to the Cat it had so many lives.

The luck ran out for the Falcons against the King’s Knights on Tuesday night in a 3-1 loss. King’s led by two sets, both convincing wins at 25-12 and 25-19, and looked like it would cruise to a sixth consecutive shutout.

South Whidbey, as it had the previous three matches, found a rhythm en route to winning the third set 25-21.

The Falcons’ high hopes were dashed in the fourth set as King’s regrouped and claimed the match 25-14.
