Fall 2013 marks the 20th anniversary of the first girls soccer team taking the field to represent South Whidbey High School.

A celebration is planned for the homecoming girls soccer match Thursday, Oct. 10 against Archbishop Murphy. Alumni of the program, coaches, parents, guardians, siblings, former water-cooler haulers, and fans are invited to come out to the game. There will be poster-making before the game, a halftime salute to former players and coaches and a celebratory cake after the match.

There will also be fundraising for current girls soccer needs. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the game starts at 6 at Waterman’s Field.
