An official action to permit the usage of Community Park for Choochokam Festival will be voted on by South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District’s board of commissioners at 6 p.m., April 20 at the district’s office on Maxwelton Road.

Organizers of the event are hoping to utilize Community Park’s size to its advantage, with plans to grow the festival in scale if approved. Representatives of the festival visited Community Park April 11.

A complete agenda for the meeting will be posted April 15, Parks Director Doug Coutts said.

An earlier version of this story misstated that the district’s board of commissioners will vote on whether Choochokam Festival will move to Community Park. The commissioners do not have the power to move the festival. They can only vote on the usage of the park.
