Furniture consignment store opens doors Friday

A different breed of consignment store with an English twist will open its doors on South Whidbey on Friday.

A Touch of Class is offering “fine furniture consignments” at the Ken’s Korner space recently occupied by Radioshack. Amid the various second-hand stores on the South End, English co-owners Max and Rosemaris Jesson are sticking with furniture and home decor. They bring 30 years of consignment business experience and “old fashioned personal customer service.”

“Antiques aren’t everybody’s cup of tea, but sometimes you can bring them back to life and make them something else rather than the old bit of wood standing in the corner,” Rosemaris Jesson said.

A Touch of Class collects furniture items and will do deliveries once a week. They can also touch up old furniture to refurbish them.
