Board inducts two members

The South Whidbey School District Board of Directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 in the community room at South Whidbey Elementary School, 5380 S. Maxwelton Road, Langley. The board will meet in an executive session at 5:45 p.m. in the same location to discuss legal issues.

During the meeting, board members Rocco Gianni and Fred O’Neal will take their oath of office to begin or resume their positions.

Two presentations will be given including a senior off-campus proposal and highlights from the Washington State School Director’s Association conference.

The board will discuss a policy on special transportation, which is on its third reading. Dan Poolman, assistant superintendent for business, will recommend purchasing a new school bus for $132,489.07. The district has $246,174 in the transportation vehicle fund, according to a memo from Poolman.
