John H. Morgan

John H. Morgan passed away peacefully at Whidbey General Hospital on April 8, 2009.

He was born April 24, 1917 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Henry and Consuello Morgan.

John was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Air Force. After his retirement he was employed by the Titan II missile program.

In January 1944, John married Thelma Harris in Southern California. Thelma passed away in 1982. In June of 1984, John married Ruth Shelton in Langley. She survives at the family home on Saratoga Road.

In addition to Ruth, his wife, John is survived by two children, Don of Kailua, Hawaii and Denise of Mesquite, Nev.; and two step-children, Kay Schmit of Onalaska, and Mike Shelton of Olympia. John was also grandpa to 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandson Tyson.

John retired to Whidbey Island in 1968. He enjoyed helping people and had many opportunities through the years. He was a master woodworker, and many family and friends enjoyed clocks that he had made for them. He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Langley for 40-plus years.

There was a family graveside service on Saturday, April 11, and there will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18 at the Langley CMA Church.
