Virginia Olsen

Virginia R. Olsen (Anderson) was born December 21st, 1933 in Alert, Kansas. She passed away at home on May 9th, 2013 in Langley, Washington. Ginny as we all knew her was a gracious lady and married Mick Olsen in April of 1981, where they lived on Whidbey Island for the next 30 years.

She loved spending time with all her family and friends and boating was a big part of her life with Mick, where they made so many wonderful friends during their travels. She loved spending time with her dogs and they were wonderful companions for her.

Virginia graduated in 1951 from high school in Ceresco, Nebraska and continued on to attend North Park College in Chicago, IL. She lived in several cities: Minneapolis, Denver and Seattle. She spent her career working for NW Bell (AT&T) as an executive secretary and in customer user training before retiring to Whidbey Island.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Mick Olsen, parents Rev Andrew and Victoria Anderson, brother Warren and sister Miriam. She will be remembered by her brothers Ray of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Wilbert (Dorothy) of Langley, WA, stepson LeRoy (Kim) Olsen of Greenbank, WA, stepson Frank (Gina) Olsen of Florida, stepdaughter Tracy (Brad) Schultz of Freeland and stepdaughter Melinda (Mike) Vazquez of Florida, along with numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland, WA on June 8th at 1pm. Remembrances may be made to WAIF, PO Box 1108, Coupeville, WA 98239 or Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland.
